Notes
- Your first scramble mission, and your first encounter with Kilrathi bombers. The Paktahns will launch torpedoes at the Victory if given a chance, so these should always be your first priority. They are slow moving, but have heavy armor and a mean rear turret which you should stay well away from.
- While you are trying to stop the Victory from having a torpedo shoved into it, the fighters will be on your tail, but you must concentrate on one target at a time, otherwise you will allow the enemy's shields to regenerate.
Outcome
Success go to Tamayo 2. Failure you lose.

Notes
- Take the Excalibur. You know you want to.
- At Nav 1 you face quite a large force, but the Excalibur will make short work of anything thrown at you. It also carries a large missile load, and since you shouldn't need them for the transports, try out those missiles here.
- The transports at Nav 2 only have a couple of laser turrets, but you should still be careful since those turrets can still chew you up.
Outcome
- Success / Failure and challenge Flash go to Tamayo 3.
- Success / Failure, Success in Orsini 3 and decline Flash's challenge go to Locanda 1.
- Success / Failure, Failure in Orsini 3 and decline Flash's challenge go to Proxima 1

- This mission is optional, but if you do challenge Flash and win, he will be reassigned to the Victory as one of your wingmen, and it helps morale too.
- It is an even fight. One Arrow against one Arrow. Flash is fast too, but usually a good fast way to take him out is to hit the B key to select all of your missile hardpoints and launch every missile at him as he heads towards you and reaches around 8000 klicks away from you. The chance of this working decreases depending how high you have the skill level set though.

Comments : I find it effective to let flash use up all his afterbuner fuel. Once he stops zipping aroung the screen , it is very easy to fly up on his tail and take him out. Plus it gives you time to lay down some serious taunting! ;)

- it does not matter whether you accomplished Orsini 3 or not
- you need to accomplish this mission or you will be taken to Proxima -> Sol -> End
In other words, Tamayo 2 is the first mission you actually have
