Notes
- There is no end to this mission. Your only choice is to die or eject. Both actions have the same result.
- It is possible to take out the Dreadnought, but it takes a lot of time and firepower. Considering you only get yet more waves afterwards, it isn't really worth it.
Outcome
You lose.

Mission : Sol Defense
Comments : Despite what the guide says, killing the Dreadnought can be quite challanging. Remember the weakness of all Kilrathi ships: get in the hanger. An Excal with Dumbfire or a Longbow is recommended for killing the Dreadnought, but an Excal is better.

Mission : Dreadnought
Comments : The other weakness of all Kilrathi capitol ships is directly behind them. Get behind the Dreadnough, match speed, and shoot at point blank range until it explodes- only after you destroy any fighters- this is it's blindspot

Mission : Sol Defense
Comments : Taking out the turrets first is the most challenging way to bring down this bogey - but i can be done, if you get after the Tachyon Cannons first. When this thing's finally rendered toothless, you've truly earned yourself a pat on the shoulder.

Comments : Good to know you can't win, I've played this mission over and over to no avail. I wish they'd let you know that or give you a more conclusive end. On that note, how does blair (Mark Hamil) come back in part 4 if he dies in part 3?

Comments : well, if you didn't screw up any previos missions, you never get here. So Blair appears in wc4 becouse this mission never happens :-)

Mission : Sol 1
Comments : The Sheffield and Coventry initially appear at Nav 1 when you arrive, but are both destroyed. Their destructions appear to be scripted, as they often blow up when no fighters are around shooting at them. Sometimes you can get one of them to make it a while, but once the dreadnought jumps in any of your destroyers that remain will usually eat it.

Mission : Proxima/Sol
Comments : I suspect if they'd had more time, they would've come up with a better developed losing path. As it is, the proxima/sol missions feel 'tacked on'.
Hell, I'd quite happily do without the other branching series in WC3 if it meant a better developed losing endgame.
At least with the Hell's Kitchen missions it's possible to survive to the end.

Mission : Proxima/Sol
Comments : When I played WC3 in 1997, I failed the all important T-Bomb test run in the Hyperion system and was able to somehow fire it at one of the Ekapshi ships and made for a mighty explosion except I was unable to complete the mission objectives and ended up at the Proxima/Sol missions and lost miserably and got gunned down by the Dreadnought.
