Transcript

ALBERTO FOSSA: Quite a place, isn't it?

LEV ARRIS: You have a gift for understatement, ser.

ALBERTO FOSSA: Fossa. Alberto Fossa.

LEV ARRIS: I feel like I've fallen into a keeprat's hole.

ALBERTO FOSSA: Yes, the Bex religious impulse has its collective side. As in collect anything and keep it whether you remember where it came from or not.

LEV ARRIS: And you, ser Fossa, what do you collect?

ALBERTO FOSSA: Opportunities. I've just come by a nice, shiny new one.

LEV ARRIS: Oh?

ALBERTO FOSSA: There's about to be a private auction of something rather special. A couple of business assosciates have just acquired a small peice of religious art, they're about to sell it off. I don't think they know how special it is and if I turned off at the auction it might tip them off.

LEV ARRIS: Well it sounds to me like you need someone to act for you, someone who doesn't usually turn up at auctions.

ALBERTO FOSSA: There would be more than adequate remuniation in it for the agent. Are you interested?

LEV ARRIS: How adequate?

ALBERTO FOSSA: 5,000 or so. All you would need to do is bid on my art.

25th Anniversary

On May 20, 2020, Privateer 2: The Darkening director Steve Hilliker released The Darkening 25th Anniversary Restoration which featured footage restored from Betacam tapes. The footage has been edited down into a cinema cut but where available it is of much higher quality than the game's files.

Script

The The Darkening Script Draft 7 used during the game's shooting has been provided by Erin Roberts.

(Continuation of stolen statue sequence. Player must go to
Blessed Bew Bar to discover necessary information.)

SC.405 INT. BLESSED BREW BAR, BEX

An odd sort of place: like the kind of pub that's built out
of bits of old churches. Religious relics, peculiar icons
and strange portraiture, all hung on the walls and ceiling
as if in a TGI Friday's: casual, cheerful and bizarre.

When the player clicks on ALBERTO FOSSA below:

SC.406 ON ARRIS

Nursing a drink and strolling among the antiquities, with a
look on his face like a man at the zoo. Quietly, in b.g.,
ALBERTO FOSSA comes up behind him.

FOSSA
Quite a place, isn't it?

Fossa. Alberto.

Yes, the Bex religious impulse

it...whether you remember where
it came from or not.

SC.407 ANOTHER ANGLE

As they wander through the place.

ARRIS
And you, ser Fossa, what do you
collect?
FOSSA
Opportunities.

SC.408 ANOTHER ANGLE

As they walk together.

FOSSA
There would be more than adequate
remuneration in it for the agent.
Are you interested?...
ARRIS
How adequate?
FOSSA
Five thousand or so. All you
would need to do is bid on my
behalf.

      CHOICE 2:
     ARRIS
Why not? Why ask questions?
I might as well.
Naah. I want to drink and
look at the artwork. And
the pretty nuns.
