LEV ARRIS: Okay, shoot, Taffin. But make it a good one. Because if I don't drop dead the second you pull that trigger, you lose the rest of your ugly face.
HAL TAFFIN: Oh, the pod, you want to know about the medical pod. Why didn't you just say so?
HAL TAFFIN: I sold it to a guy called Angus Santana on Anhur. He works for some charity called Interplanetary Aid.
LEV ARRIS: What did Santana want with it?
HAL TAFFIN: They were looking for something to use as a med-evac.
LEV ARRIS: How come you sold it so fast?
HAL TAFFIN: I don't like trouble. That ship's trouble. There was some people, there was a lot of questions. Everyone's been getting rid of anything they had from that ship.
LEV ARRIS: Why all the interest?
HAL TAFFIN: Get out of here.

25th Anniversary
On May 20, 2020, Privateer 2: The Darkening director Steve Hilliker released The Darkening 25th Anniversary Restoration which featured footage restored from Betacam tapes. The footage has been edited down into a cinema cut but where available it is of much higher quality than the game's files.
Betacam
A pair of Betacam SP tapes recovered from Digital Anvil have provided high quality versions of much of Privateer 2: The Darkening's Main Plot. These cuts are not final and digital effects are missing.

When it comes, Taffin's laugh is a little hysterical.
He isn't the least amused.
- TAFFIN
- (As though just realising it)

He puts his gun away.
SC.117 ON TAFFIN (ARRIS IN B.G.)Taffin sits on the desk, looks away from Arris, as if
getting uncomfortable. He touches the ruined part of his
face nervously.
