DAVID HASSAN: I hear you've found something of interest.

LEV ARRIS: News travels fast.

DAVID HASSAN: It does if you spend enough money.

LEV ARRIS: Malakai's dead.

DAVID HASSAN: Malakai's dead?

LEV ARRIS: Went down with the Canera. Listen, does the name Rhinehart mean anything to you?

DAVID HASSAN: Maybe. Maybe a code name for one of Kronos' lieutenants. You sure he's dead?

LEV ARRIS: Yeah, of course I'm sure. What's the problem?

DAVID HASSAN: If Malakai's dead, who the hell have we got? We've got the guy who sent you all the e-mail. We caught him as he was leaving Bex.

LEV ARRIS: Reading my e-mail? David, I've got to meet this guy. You owe me.

DAVID HASSAN: Okay, then. CIS secure services. Bex TP high security facility. Chief Proctor's Office. Ron, it's David Hassan.

PRISON POLICE OFFICER: David. See your orders came through this morning, he's on his way.

DAVID HASSAN: What orders?

PRISON POLICE OFFICER: Moving our prisoner over to Hades.

DAVID HASSAN: Orders? Under whose seal?

PRISON POLICE OFFICER: Yours.

LEV ARRIS: Wh-wh-what's going on?

DAVID HASSAN: When did these orders come through?

PRISON POLICE OFFICER: Last night. We shipped him out, uh, well, a couple hours ago.

DAVID HASSAN: Tell BTP to get everything they can out there. That ship's going to be attacked. Coming?

25th Anniversary

On May 20, 2020, Privateer 2: The Darkening director Steve Hilliker released The Darkening 25th Anniversary Restoration which featured footage restored from Betacam tapes. The footage has been edited down into a cinema cut but where available it is of much higher quality than the game's files.

HARRAS

Malakai is dead?

ARRIS

Went down with the Canera. Listen,

does the name Rhineheart mean anything

to you?

HASSAN

(distracted)

Ah, maybe...maybe a codename for one of

Kronos' lieutenants. You're sure that

Malakai is dead?

ARRIS

Of course I'm sure. What's the problem?

HARRAS

Well, if Malakai is dead...Who the hell

do we have?

Arris looks confused.

HARRAS

We got the guy who's been sending you

all the e-mail. Caught him as he was

leaving Bex...

ARRIS

(putting it together)

Reading my e-mail!

(beat)

David, I've got to meet this guy.

SC.255 ANOTHER ANGLE

Hassan looks doubtful.

ARRIS

You owe me.

SC.256 ON HASSAN

Touches a keypad on a nearby terminal.

HASSAN

(to Arris)

Wait a minute. -- CIS secure services,

Bex T.P. high-security

facility. Voice.

BEX COP (VO)

BTP.

HASSAN

Chief Proctor's office.

-- Ron, it's David Hassan.

RON (VO)

David! The orders came through

this morning. He's on his way.

HASSAN

(Confused)

What orders?

RON (VO)

For moving your prisoner over to

Hades.

HASSAN

Orders under whose seal?

RON (VO)

Yours.

Arris is stunned.

ARRIS

What's up?

HASSAN

When did the orders come through?

RON (VO)

Last night. We shipped him out

what's --

HASSAN

Tell BTP to get out everything they can

spare out there. The ship's going to be

Hassan jumps out out of his chair.

HASSAN

Coming?

Hassan looks around...to see that Arris is already headed for
the door. Hassan grins and follows...
