Shooting Script
A Wing Commander IV shooting script has been digitized from the collection of the University of Texas at Austin. A digital version (extracted below) was posted to Origin's Wing Commander IV website in 1996.
midgame: INTREPID launch deck -m1 Black Lance fighters stand on the Launch Deck... Sleek, otherworldly ... in stark contrast to the somewhat clunky Border Worlds warbirds...
INTREPID crew members move around the new ships, some with their mouths hanging open in awe, others smiling over their good fortune...
Pliers and one of his young assistants stand in front of a black lance fighter; Pliers scratching his head at a convex-shaped disk he's extracted from its belly.
(we recognize the disk as the flash-pak device used byÿSeether on previous occasions: see scenes 5-a1 andÿ172-G2.)
pliers What the heck is this? None of the others have one...
he deliberately drops it -- the assistant's eyes go wide in fear and he hauls ass out of there. Pliers pays no attention as he picks up the disk and continues studying it.
pliers Didn't go bang. Must have a separate detonator.
He turns his attention back to the ship itself...
