Shooting Script
A Wing Commander IV shooting script has been digitized from the collection of the University of Texas at Austin. A digital version (extracted below) was posted to Origin's Wing Commander IV website in 1996.
midgame: aboard the comm station -e2 Vagabond and sosa are hunched down in a bay of the station.
he tosses the comm-device he was using to talk to Blair and opens fire on the guards who've just entered the other side of the bay.
Sosa whips out portable gear, quickly jacks into a deck and downloads the classified data they need as shots rip into panels above her head.
sosa Got it.
Vagabond (gestures) You go that way. Stay low. I'll draw their fire.
She hesitates...
Vagabond Go!
Sosa moves in one direction while Vagabond heads in the other -- firing rapidly at the guards.
just as sosa reaches the exit, she turns to see a guard's blast rip into Vagabond. her face fills with horror as Vagabond is thrown back into a bank of terminals, a gaping, fatal wound in his gut.
for a split second, sosa doesn't seem sure of what to do... but the reality that Vagabond's not coming back quickly sets in and she hauls ass out of there.
