COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: What is this?
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: One of our MIPs.
COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: MIPs?
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: Manned Insertion Pod... a little gimmick I stole about a year ago from some Confed testing site when no one was lookin'.
COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Never heard of it.
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: Course not. Takes them guys forever to release new technology, what with all their red tape about safety and such.
COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Definitely not for claustrophobic types.
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: Oh, it's a snug fit but it's just the thing for squeezin' folks into a spot where a shuttle might be too big, or attract too much attention. See that? Latches right onto the target and laser cuts a hole so the guy inside can crawl right through.
COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Lock and launch procedure?
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: Just like firin' an ImRec. Course the fella in there has got to release the safety first. And he's pretty much on his own with minimal steerage.
COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Minimal?
CHIEF TECH ROBERT "PLIERS" SYKES: Enough to dock at the target, and then fly back out to where you can tractor him in. And it gets pulled right back to one of your hard points, so you can fire it again if you need to.

Blair Not for claustrophobic types.
Pliers Yeah, it's snug but they're just the thing for squeezin' folks into a spot where a shuttle might be too big -- or attract too much attention. (points to one end) See that? They latch right onto the target and laser-cut a hole so the guy inside can crawl right through.
Blair Lock and launch procedure?
Pliers Just like firin' an ImRec. 'Course the fella in there has to release the safety first. Then he's on his own with minimal steerage.

Pliers (shrugs) Enough to dock at the target, then fly back out to where you can tractor him in. (smiles) And it gets pulled back to one of your hard points so's you can fire it again if you need to.
Blair's clearly impressed with pliers' ingenuity.
