Behind the Screens
Test Bed (or Testbed) is an inaccessible star system in Wing Commander Privateer and Privateer Righteous Fire. It was created for and used by the game's developers for playtesting purposes. As the system has no jump points it can not be reached through normal play. The system is technically canon as it appears in the Galaxy cockpit screenshot in the Privateer Player's Guide though all of the details above beyond that name are based on the inaccessible game content (including its placement in the Fariss Quadrant). Rylex was the first Wing Commander fan to succesfully explore the Test Bed by hex editing a jump point to direct to the map.
