Taking some time out from warning us about celebrities, hurricanes and sharks, CNN has declared Electronic Arts one of the top employers for new college graduates:
For gamers, this is the golden trophy of jobs. Employees are given between five and 10 free games a year, with an option to purchase heavily discounted copies in a company store, and all full-time new hires get a coupon for $100 off any console. With so many games to master you might not have time to spend any of the $60,000 starting salary that's offered to the average entry-level worker. And don't forget the restricted stock grants (for instance, 300 shares for new software engineers), the on-site gym, free DVD library, and a plan that allows employees to buy company stock at a 15% discount. Be prepared for a challenge, though: Last year, 5,000 college graduates applied, but only 200 were hired.You can read the entire article here.
