GameTap has announced that they are expanding in two new ways. First, they will begin selling retail games through their digital distribution network, and second, the service will expand with a new free section. Some thirty games, out of nearly 900 available to subscribers, will be available in an advertising-supported version of their client. Wing Commander was not listed as part of the initial free batch, but it is available for regular play. Plans range from $7 to $9 a month, and there is a promotion that will let players get their first month for under a dollar.
