More War...birds

The Premiere Edition of Wing Commander III included a number of special items, from a copy of Fleet Action to a 1995 calendar. Most unique, however, may have been its full color version of the Warbirds fold-out poster. The regular Warbirds poster features greyscale images of high resolution "FMV" renderings of ten Wing Commander III fighters - this version ups the ante by reproducing those same images in full color. Now, we've scanned them all! The images can be accessed below... but fans interested in working on high resolution models of their own can find 600 DPI scans (roughly 5 megabytes per ship) here.

Brainstorming Flight Commander

eddieb is looking for a few good... ideas! Flight Commander 1.4 is in the works and he's hoping the Wing Commander community will have some good suggestions to make the game even better. Some of eddie's ideas so far include a terrain engine, a movie player, a more detailed damage model, AI improvement, turret AIs, a glow effect for weapons and thrusters, cutscene scripting and docking... and I know we had a fun discussion about space weather in #WingNut several days back!
