Indeed? Do we have access to its contents? Or is it
simply a plot point?

Then I am a time traveler from the WCP time frame. I'm
having too much fun beating up Mekt with Melek's
shenanigans to stop now.

By the way, Mekt: You should be waking up any time
now. Don't be fooled by the intelligent discussion.
Skip down and read the insults we have left
you before responding. We make 'em fresh every day.

Exactly the kind of treachery we would expect from you dishourable Apes. :)

If they lost, nothing would matter at all. If they won, all those trained soldiers come home and will either A) overthrow the government because they're ready for freedom or B) be so totally dedicated to the system that led them to victory that they crush out any embers of revolt. I think B is more likely. Repressive regimes get overthrown when they demonstrate impotence, not strength.
Exactly - and the defeat at MacAuliffe would be the ultimate demonstration of impotence. Now, your argument about Confed hanging together because the alternative is extermination is a good one, but I still disagree. After the defeat at MacAuliffe, a lot of people would start thinking that their only hope of winning the war is to overthrow the Confederation. So, it would literally be, "Give me liberty or give me death!"

You make me think someone already did!
I once owned a dog who was smarter than you.
He must have taught you everything you know... I will not take your insolence sitting down! :)

Respectfully,
Teeheehee... isn't this a bit inappropriate, in this thread?

PS. Unless you're over 30, "laddie" is probably
inappropriate when addressing me.
Och, dinna worry about me callin ye "laddie", laddie :). I may be younger than ye, but that dinna matter, not one bit.

Surprise attacks and the breaking of truces are nothing that haven't been dozens of times in human history, old boy. Besides, you Apes fell for the Jak-Tu twice, once at McAullife and once at Terra. As the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me...

Doesn't happen in any of the WC stories, does it? Clearly
the human race has outgrown such petty shenanigans. The
Kilrathi, still semi-feral, have not yet reached
that point.

Oh, yes, we did fall for the Jaktu twice. And we have
cause to be ashamed. We have cause to be ashamed that
we actually believed that Kilrathi drivel about being
an "honorable" race. They are not. They are little
more than upright, walking animals.

Wow,then all the insults, concerning"He, we won the war, we blew up your planet and so on", brought forth by pendell and Zor lose their validity (not that they held much anyway).
