Wing Commander. Makes Macintosh Debut
(AUSTIN, TX) In 1990, the release of Wing Commander signaled a new era in computer gaming. Named *Game of the Year* by several publications, its nonstop, heart pounding space combat has been enjoyed by PC gamers ever since. Now in 1995, ORIGIN announces that Macintosh computer players will finally get their chance to hone their skills as a Confed pilot. Super Wing Commander Mac CD, an enhanced version of the original game, is scheduled for release in the early spring of this year. Super Wing Mac has additional missions, full digitized speech and completely reworked graphics from the 1990 version.
It s the 27th century and mankind is locked in a deadly war with the Kilrathi Empire, a race of vicious, cat-like aliens bent on destroying the Terran Confederation and humankind. Your homebase is the TCS Tiger s Claw. From there you and your wingmen will launch mission after mission, fighting against overwhelming odds to save all of humanity.
In Super Wing Commander Mac, you ll experience full digital sound as you hear mission briefings, your wingman s emphatic warnings and other conversations amongst the Tiger s Claw crew. As you re flying missions you ll listen to a fully orchestrated musical score that seamlessly changes as the action escalates and you turn a Kilrathi Drakhri into an exploding fireball. Of course, Super Wing Mac is enhanced by the high-quality graphics that ORIGIN games have become noted for.
