Announcing Wing Commander: A Shattered Galaxy
A week ago we reported that Starshatter has been released. The guys at riha-games.com are already working on a Wing Commander mod. A number of fighters, capital ships and starbases have been imported and they hope to have an initial Alpha version available for download soon.
At the moment, mod support is limited to creating new ship designs, new weapons effects, and new custom missions. When the game is complete, you will be able to create Total Conversion packages that replace the GUI art, fonts, HUD, and campaign data with custom content.Starshatter mission events allow you to:
- Cause ships to jump into or out of a sector (or break orbit)
- Cause ships to take damage or explode altogether
- Order ships to hold position and take no action for a specified period of time
- Send radio messages between ships
- Change targets and mission goals for any ships
- Change the IFF code for any ship
- Exit the mission
