Jumpgate Hits 1000th Day Anniversary
Andrew Dice let us know that Jumpgate has reached a thousand days of operation in the US. Their European server has even been online a little bit longer. Congratulations to the NetDevil team! Some of the developers have been discussing this milestone in the official Jumpgate forums here.
We'll keep the servers up and keep patching as long as we have enough players to keep operations in the black. After the economy patch, there are a number of major changes and enhancements planned for the remainder of 2004, some of which surely will extend into 2005. High on my list after the econ are changes to conflux spawning and behavior, and addressing some bounty-related issues. Graphical enhancements that do not constitute an entire rewrite of the graphical engine are being explored. If you have the inclination and opportunity, please help out with guerrilla marketing. It's the player numbers, not how much I have on the list to do, that will in the end determine whether it all gets done.Early on Origin was looking at potentially using Jumpgate as a model for Privateer Online. You can find more at the Jumpgate JOSSH terminal or the NetDevil developer site.
