Everyone is always saying there should be a spreadsheet that lets you conform the Wing Commander shooting script, finished cut and novelization. And today, it is happening. Here we go! You can organize the movie scene-by-scene according to the shooting script, final draft, the novelization or the young adult novelization!
One interesting discovery as I worked out the timeline: there's an error in the shooting script where several of the references to the movie's 42-hour ticking clock are an hour off. Peter Telep figured this out for the novel and corrected it! The final cut drops most of the intended supertitles so it isn't seen anywhere. But Chris must've been maintaining an internal chronology because the one shown over the Concordia (where Tolwyn orders the fleet to run at 120%) was changed when it was moved earlier in the film.
They also ADR'd a line that's not in the shooting script where Paladin orders Gerald to jump back to Earth in two hours if he isn't back. But there isn't close to two hours left before we see the 'Claw in Earth orbit at the end.
