Squadron Proposal
Behind the screens, the process started months earlier, when Chris Roberts drafted a seven-page proposal for a game he called Squadron, which would become the Wing Commander we love. It famously begins:
By the year 2654 AD, mankind has spread throughout his section of the galaxy. Along the way, humanity has come in contact with a handful of sentient races. Amusing sidenote: "The Fatman" donated his copy of the Squadron proposal to the University of Texas' archive... along with a note for future historians that the brown stains on it were, in fact, ferret pee!
