A user with the appropriate nickname of Friendly Help has posted a useful tool to the forums: an updated Wing Commander IV DVD fix. If you're having trouble with gulikoza's fantastic patch, then give this new release a try. It includes a similar workaround and an AC3 filter for those still dealing with sound issues.
