Fiction Archive Project

Online fiction isn't limited to the Secret Ops release - Origin and Digital Anvil webmasters have been adding to the Wing Commander continuity for years. Are these documents gone for good now that we've lost a number of the official sites? Nope - we've preserved them for future generations, and are in the process of archiving them at the CIC. Here's some pieces of Wing Commander fiction you may have forgotten about:

Eisen Letter: Remember when Captain Eisen hid his e-mail from Blair in Wing Commander IV? This is what he was reading! It was an 'easter egg' at Origin's Wing Commander IV PSX site. Aside from being a fun piece of fiction, it provides two great details: a specific date for WC4 and a first name for Dr. Brody.

Midway Orders: These 'transfer orders' were shown the first time a user logged on to the Wing Commander Prophecy official website (wingcommanderprophecy.com). It creates a bit of interesting background fiction, implying that Casey transferred to the TCS Midway from the TCS Kalamazoo.

Paladin's Log: This 'journal entry' by Paladin was part of Digital Anvil's Wing Commander movie website (wcmovie.com). It provides a little bit of background to the movie, and acts as a companion piece to The Confederation Handbook's letter from Paladin to Tolwyn. Note that both documents use the same signature image for Paladin - now that's continuity!

Secret Ops Fiction: This is the online fiction you know and love - the 118 pieces of background fiction written to accompany Wing Commander: Secret Ops. They were available online at SecretOps.com until just recently - unfortunately, international concerns prevented their inclusion on the Wing Commander Prophecy Gold CDs.
