Let's see... based off your username... I'd have to guess that would be the Parrot? Clever anagram, there!
You found me out! I'm so ashamed.

I could have voted for the crossbow too. I liked the placement of the guns, it looked cool seeing five guns fire across your screen, good damage too.
The Excalibur is my fav, followed by the Thunderbolt. You have to remember the game engine you are using. If ported into WC3 the Raptor would not stand up -Perhaps the poll should be changed because I feel the Raptor would have a crushing lead...
Comparing it to other fighters, really nothing matches up to the simple stopping power seen by its guns. My second favorite was perhaps the Broadsword with triple mass drivers. I always felt that they could cut through opponents easier than most other ships without using too much energy giving you a few extra salvos.
I never found any of the uberfighters gun combos that memorable. Granted the Excalibur Mk I made short work of enemies and the Dragon had overpowering weapons, but they didn't really leave as much of an impression as the Raptor did.
You spelled "Quad Fusion Canons + Gun Cooler" wrong (you are welcome). My Centurions quad tachyons were pretty sweet.
Thunderbolt VII (motore WC3)
- 2 Plasma Guns (67 damage, 44 energy consumption, 0.5 refire delay, 1200kps velocity, 2.5 sec duration, 3000 range)
- 2 Photon Guns (32 damage, 30 energy consumption, 0.45 refire delay, 1800kps velocity, 2.5 sec duration, 4500 range)
- 2 Meson (35 damage, 16 energy consumption, 0.4 refire delay, 1800 kps velocity, 2.5 sec duration, 4500 range)
- Damage per salvo: 268 damage, 180 energy consumption
- 1.49/1.0 dmg/energy use ratio
- Photon Guns suck
Thank you so much for these summary charts. I am new to wing commander, and having such a concise and clear chart for each fighter is very useful. Thanks again.

Pliers agrees during Wing Commander IV's ship loadout screens (at least, it's one thing he can say when an Avenger is selected). I think the comment is something along the lines of "I never liked the photon cannon. The damage to energy use ratio just isn't very good."1.49/1.0 dmg/energy use ratio

I hope you found the spreadsheet from Bandit LOAF useful, although it may have been disappointing if you wanted to compare every fighter and weapon from every game on a standard scale.Did you make them yourself or can I find them in some technical manual of the game? I bought the game online and therefore I don't know where to find the technical manuals to know how much damage each fighter does in each complete broadside
Thank you so much, I bought the GOG version of Profecy and I don't have a paper manual, I'll take a look at the links you posted right away, thank you very muchI hope you found the spreadsheet from Bandit LOAF useful, although it may have been disappointing if you wanted to compare every fighter and weapon from every game on a standard scale.
Any accurate information about the games has been found by decoding the game files. The games came with manuals and technical specifications, but these often turn out to be different in a few places from the implemented specifications. Differences may be errors, or last-minute game edits for play balance after the manuals were printed. For example, the Wiki has a page on the WC1 Hornet with four different armor statistics, two from game versions and two from the associated manuals.
Despite this, it's worth looking up the original manuals. The original boxes were stuffed with paper to read, which was fortunate if you were installing WC2 off interminable floppy disks! The GOG releases have the documentation in PDF, although you may have to browse the install folders to find it all. I'm not sure about the EA releases.
If you can't find some of those documents, fans on this site have done a lot of work to scan and upload them all to the Manuals and Game Documentation page. From the WC1 blueprints to the Privateer 2 Map, it's all there. Arena may be offline, but its Star*Soldier manual is still full of juicy background. If you're interested in the Prophecy era, you'll want that in particular.
