The Real CIC Return of the King Thread

Are you sure what Frodo saw with Galadirel was the scouring of the Shire? There were orcs and uruk-hai there. Maybe it's just a gimplse of a possible future.

What I remember was a bunch of bad guys running around burning down a hobbit village which sure looked like the Shire (and I can't see any reason for Jackson to introduce an entirely new setting that looks identical to the Shire midfilm) with the forest chick saying something like "this is what will happen should you fail".

Aragon is important on story, you know and Arwen is important to him, so it was relevant.

I didn't say it wasn't relevant. It just felt a bit artificially added (style wise) to me.

Awfully looked like it. Jackson claims that the "Scouring of the Shire" was never filmed however so I must be wrong ;-P
And yeah - in the movie it was said it was just a glimpse of a possible future. In the book this future happened however. And it would have helped the movie quite some IMHO, especially as it would have broken up that 5 times ending.

Yet the "Scouring" would happen even if he didn't fail. Well, I'm not sure.

It would be cool to have that chapter on the movie, but it would be too incredible long. He already had to cut way too much stuff.
