A Torpedo Launcher or torpedo launcher is a projectile launcher that can be installed on a spacecraft's weapons mount. Torpedo launchers fire Proton Torpedoes. They are available for sale to privateers at ship dealers. Gabriel Quentin wrote about torpedo launchers in GEMINI SECTOR: AN OVERVIEW.

A tractor beam is the key to efficient salvage. Cargo is usually found after a battle, waiting for collection. Items collected are automatically added to your manifest. The energy drain is 4 GJ / second.

Tractor Beam
This system locks onto retrievable objects and pulls them into your ship. A tractor beam is especially useful if you are making a living as a pirate. After blowing up merchants and other ships carrying valuable cargo, you can retrieve the goods and sell them for a handsome profit.

Behind the Screens
Wing Commander Privateer contains graphics overlays for missile launchers, torpedo launchers and tractor beams on two additional outer weapons slots on the Centurion. These slots were removed from the final build of the game.
