Tamayo is a star system in the Vega Sector and a territory of the Terran Confederation.
Tamayo is an inner colony with a moderate civilian population. Its second planet, Tamayo II, may have been the most populous colony in the system. It was a peaceful system that was relatively unaffected by the Terran-Kilrathi War.
In 2669, the Tamayo System was designated as the testing ground for the new F-103 Excalibur heavy fighter. These tests were overseen by the TCS Victory. While these trials were taking place, the Kilrathi invaded the system, and attempted to capture Tamayo II. The Kilrathi were repelled when Colonel Christopher Blair, using the Excalibur prototype, led a strike team that destroyed the entire invasion force.
