Transcript
LEV ARRIS: Vonx?
LORD MIKE VONX: That is I.
LEV ARRIS: It's, uhm, it's Lord Vonx, isn't it? I, I, I've seen you on the holo.
LORD MIKE VONX: I don't stand on ceremony at home, or many other places. Sit down, man.
LEV ARRIS: So, how can I help you?
LORD MIKE VONX: I have word of an arms shipment which will be making its way from Hephaestus to Anhur. It must be destroyed.
LEV ARRIS: Why?
LORD MIKE VONX: Because the arms being trans-shipped are intended for the civil war on Karaktikus. If they reach that planet, thousands of people will die who need not do so. That strikes me as reason enough. You and your ship come well spoken of. Will you take the comission? The price is 8,000, paid to you on confirmation of the destruction of that shipment. Gun camera shots will be sufficient.
LEV ARRIS: 8,000 is a lot for one ship.
LORD MIKE VONX: It's not a lot for saving 8,000 lives or so. Which it will.

SC.344 INT. VONX'S APARTMENTA handsome place, well-appointed, the home of a
(futuristic) patrician. Tastefully decorated, spacious.
SC.345 ON THE DOORAs LORD MIKE VONX answers the chime: a balding, good-
looking, cheerful man. Arris is standing there at the
door.
- ARRIS
- Uh, 'Vonx'?
- VONX
- That's I. Come in, ser.
SC.346 THE TWO OF THEMArris looks around him, impressed: then at his host again.
- ARRIS
- It's Lord Vonx, isn't it?
- I've seen you on the

- VONX
- I don't stand on ceremony at
- home. Or many other places.
- Sit down, man.
SC.347 WIDERThey sit. Vonx leans forward: very no-nonsense, no time
wasted.
- ARRIS
- How can I help you?

- ARRIS
- Why?
- VONX
- Because the arms being trans-

- civil war on Caractacus. If they
- reach that planet, thousands
- more people will die who need
- not do so. That strikes me as
- reason enough.
- (beat)

- ARRIS
- Eight thousand is a lot for
