A Repair Droid is an upgrade that can be installed on spacecraft to repair damaged subsystems in-flight. They are available for sale to privateers at ship dealers. The droids can repair a ships' generators, maneuvering jets and thrusters as well as several optional components: afterburners, jump drives, shields and targeting systems. Some older pilots refuse to use repair droids, insisting that only they can repair their spacecraft. Gabriel Quentin wrote about repair droids in GEMINI SECTOR: AN OVERVIEW, saying he had seen them bring ships back from near destruction.

Repair Droid
While the grizzled old pilots in mining base bars swear only by their own hands, I have seen a repair droid bring a badly damaged ship back from near death. These little gadgets are extremely effective if you just can’t wait to land and pay to get your damaged systems repaired.
