LEV ARRIS: I was wondering if I could see a Doctor Loomis. He admitted me when I first came in.

HOSPITAL RECEPTIONIST: One moment, please. Good. If you follow the little blue light to conference room 3, he'll meet you there.

LEV ARRIS: Thanks.

--

DOCTOR LOOMIS: Ser Arris. What a pleasant surprise. I suppose you'd better come in. To be honest, we didn't think we'd be seeing you again.

LEV ARRIS: Aren't you interested to know if my memory's improved?

DOCTOR LOOMIS: Your memory, of course. I'm sure Doctor Frevel would have been interested, too, had she still been alive.

LEV ARRIS: Yeah. Listen, I'm sorry about what happened to her. But I need information, Doctor Loomis.

DOCTOR LOOMIS: And I'm sorry, Ser Arris, but I don't think I'm in any position to help you.

25th Anniversary

On May 20, 2020, Privateer 2: The Darkening director Steve Hilliker released The Darkening 25th Anniversary Restoration which featured footage restored from Betacam tapes. The footage has been edited down into a cinema cut but where available it is of much higher quality than the game's files.

Betacam

A pair of Betacam SP tapes recovered from Digital Anvil have provided high quality versions of much of Privateer 2: The Darkening's Main Plot. These cuts are not final and digital effects are missing.

Origin Museum VHS

A VHS tape digitized by Joe Garrity of the Origin Museum included versions of edits 7 through 74.

Storyboards

A collection of Privateer 2 Storyboards has been provided by Joe Garrity of the Origin Museum. They cover the Main Plot cutscenes.

Script

The The Darkening Script Draft 7 used during the game's shooting has been provided by Erin Roberts.

SC.87 INT. CRIUS HOSPITAL - ANGLE ON THE RECEPTION DESK

- ARRIS. THE RECEPTIONIST

Arris is standing where the two sets of men were standing
when they came to abduct him, or stop his abduction.

ARRIS
I was wondering if I could see a
Doctor Loomis. He admitted me
when I first came in...
RECEPTIONIST
One moment, please...
(checks her board)
Oh, good. If you'll follow the
little blue light to conference
room three, he'll meet you there.

Arris nods, walks off after the little blue light.

SC.88 INT. HOSPITAL - HALLWAY

A door off to one side says "conference room three". Arris
walks INTO SHOT: from the other side, a man in a sleek white
coverall also walks INTO SHOT, looks at Arris, reaches out to
clasp arms with him, then leads him off to one side.

DR. LOOMIS
Ser Arris. What a pleasant surprise.
(Beat)
I suppose you'd better come in.

SC.89 INT. CONFERENCE ROOM

The door closes behind them as they sit at a table. The
doctor looks just slightly antsy.

DR. LOOMIS
To be honest, we didn't think we'd
be seeing you again.
ARRIS
Aren't you interested to know if my
memory's improved?
DR. LOOMIS
Your memory. Of course. I'm sure Dr.
Frevel would have been interested too..
had she still been alive.

Beat. Arris knows that Loomis blames him for the doctor's
death.

ARRIS
I'm sorry about what happened to
her. But I need information Dr. Loomis.
DR. LOOMIS
And I'm sorry, Ser Arris. But I don't
think I'm in any position to help you.

This guy isn't being very
communicative. I wonder if
leaning on him a little
would help?
Maybe I should back off
a little...he looks kind
of frightened.
