The Hispaniola had been involved in salvaging Nephilim wrecks which may be the source of a serious virus. The crew of the Hispaniola surrendered to Lieutenant Israel Hands without resistance as they were "spooked" by a skin rash one of them had caught from a captured Nephilim ship.
