Unknown Enemy
Well, a player POV is basically just a shot from inside the cockpit. It's what you have during a normal mission, except that the ship controls are disabled. The other option is to have a camera outside the cockpit - this is what you see in 99% of all cutscenes.
However, until yesterday, I had no idea how to make the camera move smoothly from point A to point B. I could change its coordinates, so that it would be teleported from point A to point B, or I could actually attach it to an object (as in, the camera is always X units away from the ship/buoy/whatever). That stuff is enough to make nice cutscenes, but now that I have smooth camera movement, I'll be able to do a whole lot more neat stuff .
