Have you played WC Prophecy? You see the "End of WC3" in the opening scene...
 
Ha, well, let's say Mark Hamill plays a pilot who drops a big bomb into thethermal exhaust port of a planet. Guess what was the result?

But, really, pick up WC3, it's worth playing.
 
You know, I never really thought about it, but that whole mission briefing scene with the excaliubur flying through the trench and trying to hit a small target at the end.. that now seems very familiar.

And perhaps even more ironic is the fact that it's Mark Hamill.

I feel stupid now that I didnt put together the similarity earlier.. probably because I never actually flew the trench and just cloaked to the target and blew it up.

ADMIRAL TOLWYN, GENERAL JAMES “PALADIN” TAGGART AND NUMEROUS CONFEDERATION BIGWIGS SIGN A TREATY WITH THE KILRATHI - - LED BY MELEK.

IT IS A DAY OF TRIUMPH FOR THE CONFEDERATION . . . COLONEL BLAIR, HOWEVER, IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN . . .

DISSOLVE TO:

SHUTTLE DESCENDING TO EARTH

THE SHUTTLE CRUISES TOWARDS THE TERRAN HOMEWORLD AS THE SUN HALOS THE PLANET.

CUT TO:

INSIDE THE SHUTTLE

THROUGH A PORT WINDOW, WE CAN SEE EARTH: A BEAUTIFUL BLUE MARBLE. A HOMEWORLD WORTH DEFENDING, AND WORTH RETURNING TO.

WE PULL BACK TO REVEAL COLONEL BLAIR . . . GAZING DOWN AT THE PLANET HE HAS SPENT HIS ENTIRE ADULT LIFE PROTECTING . . .

ENDING 1: IF Blair kissed Flint in Series N AND she survived.

FLINT IS BY HIS SIDE. HE SMILE AT HER.

BLAIR
So what do you want to do first?

FLINT
I’d wanna lie in the sun, and watch the seagulls maneuver over the water.

BLAIR

ENDING 2: IF Blair kissed Rachel in Series N.

RACHEL IS BY HIS SIDE. BLAIR SMILES AT HER.

BLAIR
What would you like to do first?

RACHEL
I’d wanna take a long walk along the seashore, I wanna feel the sand between my toes - - and never see another bulkhead.

BLAIR
Sounds good to me.


Scene A181

ENDING 3: IF Blair kissed Flint in Series N AND she did NOT survive OR IF Blair did NOT kiss either woman.

BLAIR LEANS BACK, CLOSES HIS EYES . . . AND SMILES.

FADE OUT.

THE END: WINNING ENDGAME
 
The opening scene of Prophecy shows the destroyed Kilrah in full three-dimensional glory, while the last several missions show the burning planet in the background.
 
After seeing the remains of Kilrah, I wondered why the Kilrathi didn't do something to terraform the remaining chunks of their homeworld . . . maybe even rope in most of that asteroid belt. Sure, it'd have taken quite a long time . . generations, even, to rebuild the remains of Kilrah into something remotely resembling their glorious homeworld, but at least it'd be "kilrah"
 
Why did they BLOW THE WHOLE DAMNED PLANET UP? What about the civilians? What about the women and the children? The incident reflects very poorly on the Confed in my opinion.
 
Because it came down to "us or them" -- if we didn't destroy Kilrah and end the war, the Kilrathi would win. They balanced X-billion lives on Kilrah compared to X-trillion in Confed.
 
In the game Blair also seems to be worried about that when he asks Tolwyn if he plans to use the Behemoth on Kilrah, and he answers:

- "Well, Colonel, where would you point to if you had the biggest gun in the Universe?"

(or something like that...)

Until I saw the Hobbes holovid, I thought that he had betrayed the Confederation because of the Behemoth, and the idea of blowing up his whole beloved Kilrah. After all, I thought, he fought against the Kilrathi regime, not against his race.
