Fist off, I gotta say that last shot you posted was the most inspiring sight I've seen in long while... very nice, very nice indeed.
Well, thanks! Your models played no small part in it...
and you'll need to flip the image of the Light Carrier "Ranger" (its conning tower is on the wrong side), that's about all I've noticed right off the bat.
I'm a bit confused right now as far as the conning towers are concernced... LOAF said something about mirrored ships in WC3/WC4, so I'm not sure if the tower on the light carrier is on the right side or not. (Hm, no pun intended.
)
I also decided to use your Ranger model for the Concordia-class instead. If you could remove the "40" on the Ranger's bow (or replace it with another number), I could still use it for both ship classes, though. (A smaller, scaled-down version for the "Ranger," and one for the Concordia-class.)
Fear not, the Durango-class is safe and sound ( I searched and found it last night after reading your post... backed up on an old zip drive of all things)
Wow! Definitely one of my favorite designs from the more recent *cough* WC titles - and it really doesn't look bad in green.
I'm wondering if it was the UBW who turned the Durango into an improvised carrier... Wasn't the Intrepid a Confed destroyer before?
You've inspired me to devote a little more time to modeling
Great! The Confed fleet - now with more bases!
I'm trying to finish this one before the end of the week:
look familiar?
You bet it does!
Looking forward to see it finished!
AND, if I fool around with the Fralthra model and dish out some new engines real fast I can make a WC2 style Shiraak Carrier- but again this ain't WC canon.
Shiraak? Never heard of it, but anyway: The more variety in ship classes, the better. And the Kilrathi could need another capship in their fleet right now, I guess. Blowing up only Ralathas and Fralthras all the time could become boring on the long run...
