The HUD download file

I have a Mac and am running this game succcessfully. What I would like to know is the HUD file, do I need that? And if so, where does it go?

I used to play this on a "new" DX33 MHz computer. I had the original and it was my all time favorite. It's still a cool game.

Does anyone remember if the original box came with a map? I'm not sure but I think it did.

You don't need it, it just beautifies some images. (unzip it, and read the readme)

Yes, definitely. My only gripes were the small universe, only four ships (of which only one was really useful) and that they didn't use their RealSpace Engine.

No, it did not. I drew a map myself then.
