Bandit LOAF
Long Live the Confederation!
Anything from either side of Armada's gauntlet, from mission six forward is pretty darned tough.

Iceblade said:I used to have a lot of difficulty with WCP--primiarily during the initial times I played it--on rookie setting trying to protect the Midway. But now nightmare only provides a good challenge. And SO is pathetic except on nightmare in a bomber.
But I guess the hardest mission would have to be the one where you have to go on a five-nav escort patrol around Midway taking out transports, capships and checking the relay station that you destroyed. This, though, was more difficult in the sense of keeping all the bombers alive--a real pain to do esp. on nightmare. (this is WCP I'm refering to of course)
Anyone notice that in SO defending the Cerberus is easier--primarily on the jump-in scrambles. They really boosted the wasps abilities and made the made the Mantas stupider for they rarely target the Cerberus.
but if u activate ur cloak then how can you kill thratrak ? one can jump into the nav where the prince is uncloaked else there will be an endless wave of heavy fighters.Lt.Death100 said:The T-bomb run shouldn't be hard unless you don't activate your cloak.
Foxtrot said:wait ! can we use the cloak multiple times ????
DangerousCook said:I think the Ella mission is definitely up there. In a Dragon it's pie, but with let's say a Banshee or Bearcat on Hard, you will definitely lose your wingman (Maniac usually lasts longest) and you will also probably die, haha. I really don't enjoy plinking away at Hellcat tail for 2 minutes each...
Well, the Bearcat was considered pretty average. The auto-tracking guns don't help much without convergence.Iceyl86 said:I like the Bearcat, I thought the mission was VERY easy in that fighter...
Agreed on #1... did you fly all nav points? 4 Navs full of cats PLUS the Exeter and Rapiers in between... **ouch** (on this occasion, how was that phrase about "think of it as having a WIDE target selection" I heard somewhere???) Think i beat it one or two times - while trying certainly 20+ times, and in one finish (so 50% or 100% of finished) I lost Spirit.cff said:My biggest nightmare missions are still in SM1. #2 is the first sighting of the Sivar. Too many Jalthis there. Guess what #1 could be... You fly a Raptor. Against Rapiers...
MavS said:Oh, and about your Jalthis... what's the problem? They'd been fine targets to me (back then at least) .
NuAngel said:Does nobody remember the first time they came accross the "skipper missiles" in WC3? I could never save my own cap ship, back when WC3 first came out and I had to afterburn like crazy to catch those things, and if the Kilrathi had time to fire more than one... I never stood a chance.
Then it just became "lock>attack my target" and I took out the cap ship. :~~~: But man, the first time I came to the skippers, I didn't know what to do!

Death said:Of the pre-FMV games, Kurasawa 2 (the dreaded "Ralari rescue"), easily. Someone must have switched out that destroyer's armor with paper mache, with how easily that Ralari goes down to Gratha guns. Not detouring around the roid field gets you the fun of tangling with Salthis in the rocks, but even cheating by manually flying around the asteroids you're not given the easiest of tasks.
For the FMV games, there's a few tough ones, but I think "Outrun Ella" is probably one of the bigger pains in the ass, especially if you don't fly the munchkinmobile (Dragon).
None of the rest really stick out in my mind at the moment.
