Talkin' about coffee

Yeah, according to the Linguistic approach, there is no such thing as the RIGHT way to speak. You have the proper ways ACCORDING to the circunstances. Varying degrees. But the different ways people from different countries speak the same mother language (ie. Brazil and Portugal, US and UK) are all equally "correct".

I like the coffee scene in WC4 where Maniac picks up his coffee and it's all cold. Then he picks up Blair's coffee and is like, "Ah, yes!" Really great scene I thought.

Coffee is OK, but mainly for its effect. The smell is good; the taste is rather bucious.

If taken too seriously (like by the starter of this thread), one can cross over into..."Frasier" territory...

No coffee for me, I drink it and I turn into a nervous wreck, like a tweeker on a week long binge, I can't function. It is wierd cause I consume tons of caffeine, must be how it affects me. Kinda like beer and hard A.

Funny that you say that, I thought I was the only one. I can down a jug of Jolt cola or tea with no apparent effect, but a single cup of coffee in the morning and I can't sleep all night. Are there different types of caffeine found in different beverages or are we both just crazy?

It's funny really. I used to always like my local coffee joints. Here in Utah we have Grounds for Coffee. I used to get my stuff there all the time. But as my taste for coffee developed, I actually was realizing that Grounds coffee was actually the pissy kind. And then I realized that I was pretty biased against Starbucks just because of how big they are.

Coffee joints are just awesome! Around my hometown there are a lot of really great places to get coffee. And I am what many call a coffee house camper... even my girlfriend calls the Rocket Star Cafe her competition because I spend so much time there... Either way, I will always go with a small coffee house over the corporate Star Bucks.

Coffee is great. All of our best grains are exported though. And in the US people waste them with those weak sissy big cupped Starbucks piss. Real coffee is STRONG.

As a coffee lover, I must totally agree with Edmo.

With emphasis on *STRONG*

I love strong coffee too though. I can use just about any brand of beans and it's up to me with how strong I want to make it. If you mean strong as in caffeine wise, alkoloids are really bitter tasting and that's the problem with caffeine. I want to taste the coffee more than the caffeine.

So that's why I like Starbucks coffee more. It has a nice coffee flavor. I've never thought it to be pissy. I will admit, however, that I don't like their lattes and au laits because they put too much cream per coffee in it.

Cafe Ibis is an excellent coffee.

Do you guy prefer a french press or do you use the drip method?

Anyone ever try chickory, the coffee substitute used by the rebs in the civil war when they could'nt get the real stuff. I've always been curious as to what it tastes like?

Ahh... There's nothing like real coffee, except roasted coffee beans with chocolate on it.
I think I'm addicted. I get terrible headaches if I don't drink at least 2 cups a day. :o
