Talkin' about coffee

You know guys...I like coffee. I mean, I know that's not profound or nothing. Heck we all do. But I think for me, it goes much more beyond that. What are your thoughts?

Ugh, I can't stand coffee. Given a choice between drinking coffee or boiled down tree bark... well, I'd probably go with the coffee, but I wouldn't like it.

I love coffee. There were times I flat mainlined the stuff earlier in my college life to stay awake during finals periods. The secret is finding a local place that does coffee right and places a resaonable price on it, not the swill the neighborhood Harbucks tries to pass off for 4-6 bucks a cup.

C-ya

Coffee is great. All of our best grains are exproted though. And in the US people waste them with those weak sissy big cupped Starbucks piss. Real coffee is STRONG.

No coffee for me, I drink it and I turn into a nervous wreck, like a tweeker on a week long binge, I can't function. It is wierd cause I consume tons of caffeine, must be how it affects me. Kinda like beer and hard A.

Harbucks...

It's funny really. I used to always like my local coffee joints. Here in Utah we have Grounds for Coffee. I used to get my stuff there all the time. But as my taste for coffee developed, I actually was realizing that Grounds coffee was actually the pissy kind. And then I realized that I was pretty biased against Starbucks just because of how big they are.

That South Park makes a really good point concerning coffee.

The reason I like Starbucks so much is because they are consistent and they're coffee tastes strong and has lots of aroma. I actually get better service at Starbucks too. Like if ever they take a long time to make my drink, they've often given me a thing for a free drink on my next visit. When Grounds was often really slow, they never offered to do that. It's just better business I think.

And the truth is, if it was up to Grounds, they would choose to be the next big corporate coffee too. I still go to Grounds occasionally. But they French Roast is beyond bitter! Eww.

There's tons of other good local coffees around here, however that I brew at home. I also use a French Press only. I don't like the drip method where as I think it makes kind of weak coffee. If you don't mind a bit of sludge at the bottom, a press is so the way to go.

Oh and I almost forgot. At my local hospital, they brew really good Starbucks coffee and if you bring your own mug, it's actually about 30 cents cheaper than getting a mug at Grounds.

Ah coffee. How many times have you saved my hide? Countless times I'm sure. I love coffee. I've never been to crazy about coffee houses since it's usually just dirty water therem, especially Starbucks. Make it yourself. It's the only way. Unless you're on the road. McDonalds coffee is quite good. Very strong, very hot. I like a little sugar with my coffee. Or rather, I like a little coffee with my sugar. :p

For all you coffee buffs, I recommend "Coffee" by AWOL. Great song.

McDonalds coffee isn't as hot anymore after that lady burned herself and got a truck load of cash. Reminds me of Suburban commando.
"What ya gonna do, beat me up?!"
"No way, this is the 90's were gonna sue you."

I'm not a coffee person. My last attempt at drinking coffee was this little bellringer called a "red eye". Wow . . . I haven't had any since.

Coffee stinks. I mean it really stinks. At least the stuff that everyone seems to drink at uni on early morning starts. :(

"Uni". My girlfriend's sister's in Australia right now, and refers to school as "uni". I like it. You crazy aussies, gotta love ya.

No, school is called school. University is called university. I don't know what you're trying to say.

To clarify, the system of education in Australia is - AFAIK - as follows:
Primary school: Ages ~5 to ~12 years old
Secondary (or High) school: Ages ~12 to ~18 years old
Tertiary education (in my case university): 18+ years old

How you can confuse school with university, I don't know. :(

"School" here just implies education. It's universal for whatever level of schooling you're at. I'm also at "uni" but we just say "school" or "college". Funny how people can be speaking the same language, but at the same time, they aren't.

Oh, if you knew me, you'd know I believe English and American are two very different languages. :( And college != school.

Yes, I totally believe English and American are two different languages too, but that's almost depressing. "American" is just a bunch of morons taking a perfectly good language and giving it a mental disorder. I don't usually say "school", it's mostly just "college".

you should see products of the JC school corporation take a stab at the english language...they simply disembowel it. one notable high school junior spells "the" t-e-h, "through" t-h-r-o-o- and "Similar" by repeatedly hitting the keyboard with his face.

Eh, languages always change. If American is the product of morons, then English is the product of morons too, and so is every other language.

I mean, hey, if the first humans had been as obsessed with correct spelling and pronunciation as we are, we'd still be communicating using incoherent grunts :).

Please, "proper" English is hardly pure itself. English mugs other languages in dark alleys, and rifles through their pockets for new words. :p
