SW Battlefront 2

Thats the hardest level in the entire campaign, just because you have 10 minutes to complete 3 major objectives (Shoot down 10 fighters, take out 4 turrets and then take out 6 engines, I think?). I played it a couple of times and would always run out of time while taking out the last or second to last engine, so I bypassed the level entirely and just went to Yavin.

That's wierd, I got through that one no problem but I had a hard time on Utapau the first time and the final objective on Hoth was pissing me off a lot.

Whats everyone's favorite level in the game? I really like Utapau myself. Tantive IV is pretty tough, especially because Rebels have the tendency to toss grenades into your spawn point. I'm not a big fan of Yavin, either, though its better balanced in this game than it was in Battlefront. I am sorely disappointed they took out the Cloud City level from the original game, though.

Yeah, I really liked both of the Bespin levels. I found that I like Mustafar in this one, of course Hoth is always fun to use the AT-ATs. I wasn't too impressed with Felucia or Jabba's Palace though.

The game sounds nice, but there are so many other cool games around. Civ 4 is sucking all my free time, along with WoW. And there is also GTA:SA, FEAR, SCCT... And all those GC games I still didn't finish...

You're not the first to tell me this. I'm about to do the Hoth battle when I get home and have heard that its a toughie.

I didn't much care for the Bespin level with all the landing pads. The whole thing is a choke point with those two hallways, the level is too small to really use a ship and the turrets can actually fire down on the opposing force. It was just too frustrating, even with the AI.

Felucia is pretty bad but I liked Jabba's Palace, which came with the original Battlefield patch. Its a well-balanced map, if a bit too tight.

I've only been playing through the instant action maps, but I have been racking medals, and I think the endurance rewards have been offsetting the intial difficulty I've been having. Maybe I'm wrong and I'm just getting to be a better shot.:D
Are there any maps that are added when you go through the Campaigns?

Some of the awards are really tough to get. 6 kills with a pistol in one life is a lot harder than it sounds. The ones I do get like War Hero and Survivalist I get a lot of - I think I have something like 38 for the former - but a couple others I have zilch to show for.

(And I dont think theres any unlockables in the game. Look out for a patch in the weeks or months to come - when they did that with the original Battlefront, they put in a new map.)

The awards are oddly balanced I agree. I have well over a hundred for Endurance, but the pistol one is difficult and I have under 30 for that one. Others I have none for because they are dependant on a character type I don't use. I typically just use the regular soldier. What do you guys favor?

I generally also use the regular soldier, though sometimes i will use a sniper or Vanguard (heavy weapons) depending on the map and the situation. But that is because i typically like to try to take the command posts rather than sit in one spot and snipe. I will use a Vangard though on Kashyyk when i play as the rebels or republic, because the empire keeps moving their IFT tanks across the water against the beach. And sometimes i will be a rebel sniper on Hoth to pick off the storm troopers as they approach the bunkers.

I wish there were more instant action maps where we see the AT-AT and AT-TE, rather than just Hoth and Genosis. That is probably my biggest criticism of the game. Or even more maps where we'd see like the AT-ST....even though the IFT tank is easier to use in battle i still like to see the walkers.

One of the Rhen Var levels in BF1 had an AT-AT or AT-TE depending on era. I don't know why they didn't keep that level, it was really enjoyable.

Yeah, both Rhen Var levels were really good. I'm hoping Lucasarts decides to release the levels from the last game into the new one.

That was the other Rhen Var map, yes. That one was a lot tougher to play because of the lack of vehicles and the control points being put right out in the open.

Does anyone know why Lucasarts never released a level editor for the original game? I think that fans making their own levels would certainly give the game a lot longer lifespan if they did - just look at Jedi Knight.

if i read you guys corretly swbf2 actually has a plot? maybe not a strong one, but that's lightyears better than no plot as generals or bf2...

oh, btw, i rember somebody saying something about kirk telling the enterprise computer to explode...star trek III, anyone ;)

I played the demo levels to battlefront 2 a couple of days ago and was not impressed. (Note: I was playing this on the xbox). The fighters were still incredibly difficult to control. It appeared that they upped the numbers of hits required to kill people now which was certainly a good move. Weapons remain te same. The rocket launcher should have been upped in its effectiveness against vehicles. Overall, I wasn't impressed. It was just the same as Battlefront 1 with some window dressings. To each his own I suppose. It did get me in the mood to play some of the old Battlefront 1. :)

The campaign mode of BF2 follows the missions of the 501st Legion(the troops that went with Anakin into the Jedi Temple. From their clone trooper days and the Rise of the Empire up to their Stormtrooper days and the Rebel defeat at Hoth.

Does it seem kinda silly to anyone else that Hoth is the last level in the campaign?
