My WinDVD just does the same crap (WinDVD 2000). I probably have WinDVD 2.3 here somewhere, though...

How to get the DXR2 to run in XP

Go here http://www.americas.creative.com/support/files/download2.asp?centric=45&maincat=2&os=9&subcat=5 and d/l the win2000 drivers for it. Open the file to unpack the files. Next go into the control panel and update the driver for it. Use the driver that is in the DRIVERS\WDM folder. After that run the exe file that is in there. It is the player.
