Nice work Ninja! Are we to assume that that is Blair's (or Maniac's) Excalibur downing a Vaktoth during the final fight with Thrakhath?

nah, if it was Thrakhath, I probably would have stuck him in a Bloodfang.

It's more a reference to the cut scene from the Playstation version where Blair outmaneuvers a Vaktoth while making the final trench run.. he doesn't actually shoot it IIRC, but it does crash into a canyon wall.
 
Blair fires a missile, but it fails to hit the Vaktoth. But the Vaktoth pilot is simply unable to keep up with Blair and crashes, later on.
