Issues with the turrets

Sometimes my guns won't fire and its generally laggy like hell, no matter the settings. Tried the galaxy (both turrets) and now the centurion rear turret. Any workaround or other solutions for that?

I think Privateers controls just kinda don't, as much as I love the game. Have you tried messing around with cpu cycles and what not to see if it smooths things out?
