Who is the manufacturer? You'd be amazed what turns up on search. I have a Dell LCD tv that always turns on, but doesn't always display the picture. It was the most annoying problem because everytime I had a tech looking at it, it worked! Sometimes, merely bumping it lightly restored picture.
Turns out for that model TV, most suffered the same problem. The TV was manufactured by Samsung for Dell and had a faulty inverter board. I would definitely be wary of continuing to rely on it as your primary display - problems, it seems, always manage to get worse.
