Have you seen that deep sea fish that the whole Alien design is based on. I know that Giger fella did it and all. But I was watching Discovery and I think it was on that show Blue Planet where they showed it. It was really creepy. Had the long back head and everything. Except it was all tiny and white and kind of translucent. The Predator looks like he's jammin' mon.

If anyone can find me a good picture of that alien fish thing I'd be very grateful.

He probably just says that.

What I found interesting was that he was working on as a production designer for the Dune movie. It was just an early phase of the movie at the time since before the final one was actually made, it was passed to several different directors. That Jodorowsky guy, his script of the movie was going to be about 10 hours long I think. He really wanted it to be that long. And so it's on Giger's site I think that he designed these really cool Harkonnen tanks and Dune worms. It would have been really interesting if they were approved for the movie.

Maybe not though since I doubt they would've had the budget to make them look that good.

Right. I thought they were the designs intended for a different directory. I highly recommend reading Frank Herbert's biography. It's really interesting when it talks about the movie production and how it should've been made nearly five years earlier. And it talks about Herbert's reaction to the Star Wars movie and George Lucas which was actually pretty funny. Him and his science fiction writer buddies formed a mock organization called the "We're Too Big to Sue George Lucas Organization."

Do you mean the recent Dreamer of Dune biography (by Brian Herbert) or Frank Herbert's history of the movie production (printed in Eye).

And that proves...

(Last chance here, buddy. I pay for internet service, don't waste my time :) )

don't worry, Lehah- I find myself in the "foot in mouth" corner of internet forums all the time. people still enjoy my presence! :-D </setup>

Somehow I find that a lot less comforting than it was intended.

I just had to say it......Has anybody seen Predator 2? watch very closely when danny glovers character walks into the pred ships trophy room.
In my opinion its not so much of a cross-over as it seems intended, if only 15 yrs late

Yeah there was..they have wanted to do this movie for a very long time. I think they were owned by two different companies.

I do agree with LOAF though...it would be 400% better if it was placed in the future and it had colonial marines.

Lance Henrickson is in it though, that is good thing. And hey plays a scientist names Weyland (the huge corportation that ripley worked for).

I am looking forward to it...the trailer looked alright, I hope it just doesn't go for jump out and grab you horror that is popular now. Aliens was the best since while Humans were victims they weren't completly helpless (space marines and hudson kinda made it cool too lol).

Bruce has mentioned his amusement with the idea - but that so far, it sounds like fanboy masturbation.

From what I've read it doesn't really sound like Campbell wants to do it. Anyone catch him in Spider-Man 2 by the way? It was a riot.

If I'da known bruce campbell was gonna be in Spiderman two, I would have just sent him the 7.50 it cost for a ticket, stayed at home, and looked up porn. Seems like a MUCH better way to spend my money and my time.
