Advantages of the K ha haf?

The Kilrathi asteroid fighter from WC3 is described as a Heavy Asteroid Camouflage Fighter, yet in the mission where you disable the Kilrathi transports, my radar picked them up as easily as any other Kilrathi fighter. What advantages besides its heavy protection, weaponry, and mines did this asteroid fighter offer? Could its so-called camouflage ability only work when it was powered down inside an asteroid field? Or did coming through a jump point at full power negate its camouflaging ability? Was the asteroid outer covering even supposed to mask its presence from radar in the first place?

I think that had more to do with the system requirements for the game. They were probably shooting for a Freespace style escort mission in an asteroid field plus getting ambushed by fighters disguised as rocks. A good idea, but not possible at the time. At least that's my opinion why the rock fighter didn't seem so threatening.

Well, everything you see in the game is not "real".I mean in the WCuniverce maybe the Asteroid Kilrathi Fighter has effects in Radar. In the novels , there are differences with the games.EG in the novels the fighters cant fly through hangars etc But in the game cause it must be simplier you can.Cause its not a simulation ,thats why the radar is easy to use.
In the Wcmovie the radar is very complicated.Imagine that in the game!! Wow...

Well, I think it's supposed to be harder to spot visually in the middle of an asteroid field, especially when standing still. Of course, you don't get this in the game...

Actually, there were times when I kept hammering at them with tachyon guns, hitting the top, rock chunks came off and off and off... and nothing happened. No boom, until I got on the side opposite and killed him with a single volley.

Maybe there are "invulnerable" sections on the top/bottom?

I doubt those sections would be invulnerable...they're probably very well-armoured with asteroid rock. I know I've had a lot of difficulty on some occasions punching through the rear, top, and bottom sections, but eventually I've gotten through, unless of course the K ha haf ditched a mine in my face.
