- CAG
- Can you contact Lieutenant Casey?
Anderson vainly taps his console. Shakes his head. OFF the
CAG's grim expression...
- CAG
- Damn.
- FADE TO BLACK.

EXT. RELAY STATION (CG)
As a large force of fighters close in and FIRE at the relay station. It's
struck from top to bottom, starts to come apart -- then EXPLODES! OFF its
flaming remains...
- DISSOLVE TO:
INT. MIDWAY BRIEFING ROOM
As many pilots observe from the rows of seats, an ashen faced Casey stands
before a long table. Seated at it are a tribunal of officers, including the
CAG, Maniac, the Captain, Spyder, and Hawk. All grave as ghosts. Maestro,
Stiletto, and Zero are part of the audience.
- CAPTAIN
- Lieutenant Lance Casey. On the day in
- question, you defied a direct order. As
- a result, a vital Relay Station was
- destroyed, Colonel Dekker and his
- Marines killed, and this vessel placed
- in extreme jeopardy. Do you have
- anything to say in your defense?
Casey shakes his head silently.
- CAPTAIN
- Then you have been judged by your
- fellow officers to have been criminally
- derelict in your duty. You will be
- removed from active flight status
- until, or if, the Midway returns to her
- home port. At that point you will face
- a full court martial before the Judge
- Advocate General. Dismissed.
The pilots in the audience murmur to each other. Crushed and broken, Casey
slowly walks past many accusing eyes and EXITS the Briefing Room as we...
