...what it is, its history and, most of all, its value.  

LYNCH

Of course. I have examined the holo your associate Tayla provided me.

I believe I could shed some light on this mystery...given the right motivation.

For example, there is a certain pilot who has caused me much professional embarrassment.

Could you take care of him for me, Captain?

PLAYER

You must be joking. I'm no assassin.

MIGGS

You want I should take $NM outside the airlock and teach him how to suck vacuum?

LYNCH

Gentlemen, please, let us remain professional.

$NM, I only want you to find the man and deliver a personal message for me.

Simply tell him how profoundly displeased and...disappointed I am with him.

PLAYER And what about the artifact, Mr. Lynch?   LYNCH Naturally I'll need to borrow it, so my experts can appraise it. PLAYER Naturally, you'll excuse me while I laugh. Now that we've had our fun, will a hologram do?   LYNCH It will not. The analysis will take longer, and be less thorough. PLAYER But I'm sure you'll do your best for someone you owe a favor.   LYNCH Very well. This is my place. Come here when you're done for your pay.

PLAYER This sounds like an internal problem. Get one of your own people to do it.   LYNCH I go to great lengths for my friends, Captain. But I am not a charity. If you wish to learn about this artifact, you'll have to talk to me...sooner or later.

...I'll scour the nav points in the Pentonville system, find the Hooded Hawk...

...and tell Captain Seelig just how disappointed you are with him.  

LYNCH

I hope so. Unless you succeed, I fear I'll be quite incapable of helping you.

Or quite unwilling.

Privateer Playtester's Guide

ROMAN LYNCH - MISSION A

Summary	Roman Lynch, escorted by his bodyguard, Miggs, is interested in helping, but needs some work done. Tayla sent him a hologram of the artifact and he'll have someone study it if you'll mn a few missions. The first is a bounty mission where you have to send a message to Seelig, a pirate in Pentonville, instead of killing him. Don't be alarmed when he attacks you, though. The message upsets him and he wants to take it out on the messenger, you.
Payment	10,000 credits.
Requirements	Deliver the message to Seelig at Nov 2 in Pentonville. It is not necessary to kill him to complete the mission. Return to New Constantinople.
Opponents	Seelig (a fanatical pro) is the only mission-specific person you'll encounter. He is at Nay 2 in Pentonville. He will be friendly until the message is delivered, at which point he will try to kill you.

• When you arrive at Pentonville's Nav 2, Seelig will be waiting for you in a Talon. It is a fast ship and has a lot of firepower, but Seelig is by himself, so you should be able to take him out easily. — "Deetchman"

Description

To keep Lynch sweet, you need to fly another mission. This one slightly more risky. Lynch warns you that Kroiz may try to stop you, and sure enough, he tries.

Objectives

Deliver shipment of weapons to Siva Agricultural Base in Rikel System, then return to New Constantinople and meet Lynch in the bar.

• Kroiz is backed up by two mercenaries. All three are flying Demons. The asteroids make things even more difficult.

Comments : 1) No you don't have to shoot at Seelig, but how hard could it be to knock down one Talon? 2) Kroiz and his two buds are so easy to kill - just fly towards them and they'll smash into an asteroid and get killed without you having to do anything.

Comments : If you don't want to fight Kroiz in mission 2, there are 2 ways into the system, meet him at one, then jump out and head in the other with no trouble. You can make it easily in 6 jumps.

Comments : When I failed to deliver the cargo Lynch said he didn't want my services anymore and left, now I don't know what to do next! I've been to Oxford and I can't even get in the Library yet.
