E. MASTERSON - MISSION D
Summary | Once again Masterson offers you an escort mission. He needs a Drayman filled with supplies to make its delivery unimpeded. This is your final mission before gaining access to the research facilities. |
Payment | 10,000 plus access to the Library. |
Requirements | Protect the Drayman and ensure its safe arrival at Oxford. |
Opponents | The Drayman will be waiting at Nay I, where it will be attacked by five pirate Talons (fanatical pros). |
- Well, now you're in some trouble. It seems that you get to escort another Drayman back to Oxford, but this time, it is being attacked by five Talons. You'll have to move fast and attack quickly, as usual. If you have missile launchers, start blast-ing away as soon as you get a lock The faster you destroy the Talons, the quicker you get back and gain access to the Library. - "Deetchman"
Using The Library. The Library will be accessible to you after you have completed Masterson's fourth assignment. Click on the Library to enter. Once inside, click on the cubicles, where there is a scanning research tool you can use on the artifact. Click on the scanner to activate it. After it has had a chance to gather information, you will receive a report on Dr. Lemuel Monkhouse, whose reputation is based on the discovery of Stack artifacts on Mars and other worlds. He is a major figure in the debate on the nature of this long-vanished civilization. It is rumored he possesses unconfiscated arti-facts and is currently working on Palan despite the blockade. As he is often sought after for advice on artifacts, you should seek Dr. Monkhouse on Palan.
WC:CIC Game Guide
Description
Masterson has figured out why you want access to Oxford Library, but while you are flying missions for him, he isn't bothered. And now you have another mission.
Objectives
Find the ship Vulcan's Forge at Nav 3, protect it from attack, and escort it back to Oxford.
Scripted Encounters
Bounty Hunters at Nav 3
Notes
- The "private collectors" Masterson mentioned are attacking the Vulcan's Forge at Nav 3. There are around 6 of them, all in Demons. Even two missiles won't take out a Demon, so you'll need to weaken the shields first.

Mission :
Comments : You don't have to kill all the other pirates, you only need to shoot down Rhombus (in the Galaxy). And the cargo? What the h... do you need that for? It's almost no money.

Mission : Masterson
Comments : "What do you need the cargo for?" Hey, a guy's gotta eat. And do you know how much my leather flight jackets go for? Plus that, it's obvious you don't party like I party...booze, broads and trips to Earth don't grow on trees. On top of that, I like collecting pilot slaves. Grab the loot when you can, and leave your kids something to talk about when you kick off.
