Twenty Halsey-Class Naval Bases were built during the 2650s throughout Confederation space to bolster defenses behind front lines, or what might become, front line areas. They were impressive installations, able to dock several large capital ships inside her core as well as hundreds of smaller vessels, both military and civilian.
Halsey naval bases were centers of military and economic power in the areas they were built. The only installation to survive the Nephilim War was the Farragut in the Antares Quadrant. It served as the seat of Confederation power in that area in the aftermath of the war.
