CASEY: Hard day at the office?

FINLEY: No. Everything's fine. Why?

CASEY: Well, it's just that I've never seen anyone drink like that before... and live.

FINLEY: Well, you want to see it again?

CASEY: All right, all right. Hold on. What's wrong?

FINLEY: You want to know what's wrong? Everything. Science Division hasn't got a clue what we're up against. All we've got are a bunch of unknown contacts, some dead Cats and a cryptic story about the end of the world. I've never dealt with anything...

CASEY: Wait, wait... End of the world? The Kilrathi's Kn'Thrak. Oh yeah, I heard about that. Zero said it means, uh, darkness.

FINLEY: Not just "darkness," Casey. Evil. I looked it up in the archives. There's an ancient Kilrathi prophecy about the end of the world and the Kn'thrak figures prominently.

CASEY: Well, didn't that happen with the destruction of Kilrah?

FINLEY: Well, not to get too superstitious on you, Flyboy, but according to the Kilrathi that was just the beginning. The prophecy doesn't mean just armageddon, like on Earth. To them, the end of the world means the end of ALL things. Everything.

CASEY: Well, did you tell the Captain about this?

FINLEY: He wants answers not ghost stories. To make matters worse, we've been trying to send a distress signal to the nearest Confed Starbase. It's only a few systems away. But our link through the jump has been cut.

CASEY: Well, that would mean that the relay station in the H'hrass system was out of commission.

FINLEY: Good guess, bright eyes.

CASEY: So, tell me something. What's a Lieutenant Commander doing down here in pilot country?

FINLEY: Well, I guess adrenaline and testosterone have always appealed to me more than brass.

CASEY: You know a very smart person once told me that is a dangerous combination.

ANDERSON: [loudspeaker] All pilots to the briefing room! Again, all pilots to the briefing room!

CASEY: Gotta go.

FINLEY: Hey, Casey! Good Luck.

INT. REC ROOM

Casey enters and heads for the bar. Finley's there. She has
that same wicked bottle in front of her. He walks up as she
slams down a double...and gags. Casey winces at the sight of
it, but is intrigued by her capacity for punishment. She pours
another.

CASEY
Tough day at the office?

Finley drains her glass, takes a deeo breath.

FINLEY
(slightly sarcastic)
No, everything is fine. Why?

She slams it down again. Same results.

CASEY
No reason. It's just thatI've
never seen anyone drink like this--
and live.
FINLEY
Want to see it again?

She pours another and is about to slam it when he stops her.

You want to know what's wrong?
Everything. Science Division

against...all we have are a bunch
of unknown contacts, some dead cats
and a cryptic story about the end
of the world.
CASEY
. Wait...back that up. End of the
world?
FINLEY
The Kilrathi's Kn'Thrak.
CASEY
Zero said something about it
meaning Darkness or something.
FINLEY
Not just Darkness, Casey. Evil.
We looked it up in the archives.
There's an ancient Kilrathi
prophecy about the end of the
world ...and the Kn'thrak figures
prominently.
CASEY
Alright, putting legends and
folklore aside, didn't that happen
when we won the Kilrathi war and
Kilrah was destroyed?
FINLEY
Not to get too superstitious on
you, Flyboy, but according to the
Kilrathi that was just the
beginning. The Prophecy doesn't
mean just Armageddon, like on

Everything.
CASEY
I see. id you tell this to the
Captain?

12/18/96 Draft

A Wing Commander Prophecy First Draft Script dated December 18, 1996 has been provided by Billy Cain.

INT. MIDWAY REC ROOM

Finley ENTERS and heads for the self-serve bar. But when she reaches for a
glass, her hand is shaking so bad she drops it, and it shatters on the
floor. Casey approaches Finley, takes another glass and pours her a drink.
As she gives him a nod.

CASEY
Tough day at the office?

Finley drains her glass, takes a deep breath, begins talking.

FINLEY
The Captain's been trying to send a

has been cut.
CASEY
Which means the Communications Relay
Station in the H'hrass system must be
out of commission.

Finley nods; impressed.

FINLEY
Good guess, bright eyes. But can you
tell me what our next move should be?
CASEY
We jump to the H'hrass System; repair
the Station, and warn Confed we're
being invaded by unknown aliens.
