How many Kilrathi make up the team in LORDS OF THE SKY?
Between 12 and 15. Here is my analysis: The "Lords of the Sky" who accept the Dioscuri offering are the COMMANDER and SIX soldiers (dubbed GREEN 1, GREEN 2, ORANGE, TANGERINE, YELLOW and BALDO). Grunt's initial salvo knocks down GREEN 1 and hits BALDO. Maniac kicks TANGERINE off the mountain. Grunt's final salvo collapses the ground under YELLOW and BALDO. COMMANDER, ORANGE and GREEN 2 are seen retreating. Note that GREEN 2 seems to be TANGERINE recolored after they realized he'd been killed in an earlier shot. Outside the base are GREY and three soldiers who are seen only in the distance. The COMMANDER, ORANGE, TANGERINE 2 and GREEN 3 are inside the base. He orders reinforcements to the outside. TANGERINE 2 and GREEN 3 leave. The shot of reinforcements exiting the base shows five soldiers coming out: TANGERINE 2, ORANGE 2, RED, YELLOW 2 and GREEN 3. The Confederation arrests GREEN 3 and YELLOW 2 at the end. It is possible that TANGERINE 2, YELLOW 2 and GREEN 2 are the same Kilrathi shot at by Grunt earlier who may have survived their fall. ORANGE 2 can't be a repeat because ORANGE 1 is still inside at the sensor station.
How many Kilrathi make up the landing party in PRICE OF VICTORY>
At least TWENTY. There are EIGHT FIGURES visible in the wide shot of the carrier's flight deck. These include GHARAL, BHOK, two PILOTS (GREY and RED) and five GROUND CREW (all TANGERINE). We see GREY, RED, YELLOW 1 and PINK drop into the cave (all sleevless and carrying pistols). We later see GHARAL with YELLOW 2 and BLUE (sleeveless and jumpsuit respectively) who are carrying rifles. Wide shots of the fighters from Blair's viewpoint show as many as eleven figures. There is a close shot of five SNOW CATS (four with rifles) including two GREYS and three in the distance. When Blair shoots we see THREE PILOTS, one of whom explodes with his Sartha. Two SNOW CATS (BROWN and RED 1) fire back with pistols. When Maniac and Archer arrive they shoot at FOUR PILOTS, though none are conclusively killed. As Blair runs to his fighter we see two SNOW CATS (GREY and RED 2) firing at him with rifles. We then have a shot of five SNOW CATS (seemingly including these two) with rifles which are attacked by Maniac (three collapse into the ground). There is a shot of two SNOW CATS with rifles firing back (seemingly the survivors). The final shot of GHARAL and two members of the search party (GREY and BLUE) who have already been accounted for. That gives us a total of at least SIX PILOTS (as many as seven) and SEVEN SNOW CATS at the base camp and GHARAL plus SIX searchers in the cave. This is twenty to twenty one Kilrathi. Upon return to the carrier we see ELEVEN PILOTS plus BHOK have survived. At least four seemed to be killed on the planet so that leaves four to five unaccounted for.
