Munro was a star system whose only inhabitable planet is the eponymous Munro.

Munro was one of the major gateways of the Orion Arm of the galaxy, as it stood directly astride the frontier between the Terran Confederation and Kilrathi Empire. Its strategic importance lay with its series of jump points that provided the shortest and most direct access to the core worlds of both the Confederation and the Empire. Therefore, Munro was a hotly-contested star system where some of the War's worst battles occurred.

At least six separate battles are known to have occurred at Munro. In 2668 during Operation Red Three, the Terrans bombarded the planet Munro in order to quell the Kilrathi defenses stationed there. The system was also the location of an engagement between TCS Concordia and TCS Tarawa and a Kilrathi light carrier group. Rear Admiral Geoffrey Tolwyn was stripped of his rank and dishonorably discharged for ordering the strike after he had learned of the armistice between the Confederation and the Kilrathi. This was later discovered to be a ploy to allow Tolwyn to take a scouting fleet to the Landreich.
