"Diligent", a Proxima Spaceworks Errant owned by James Taggart, circa 2654.
|
HISTORY
Production of the Proxima Spaceworks Errant began in 2614. The Errant is a workhorse of the Terran economy, the lightest commercially available jump capable utility ship. Errants have a moduler construction which allows for significant customization, including the addition of a cabin module which adds living space for one to four passengers. The hard-working ships are most often used as control modules for cargo drones and towed cargo units; they also serve as light cargo ships, passenger charts, couriers and even cabin cruisers.
The Errant is powered by a Hastings-Sakura drive array, which allows it to tow 20,000 tonnes of unpowered cargo modules. The standard model has a 10,000 cubic meter hold. In 2621, Errant models began offering the option of modular weapons and armor hardpoints.
Terran Confederation Naval Intelligence employed an Errant, the Diligent, as part of an effort to infiltrate Pilgrim terrorist groups aiding the Kilrathi in 2654. The Diligent ferried the message that brought the Tiger's Claw to Earth in time to stop the Kilrathi invasion, helped capture the first Thrakhra concom ever recovered by the Confederation and later placed a group of spys aboard the TCS Olympus.
